My Super Sweet 16 – Aaron Reid

I just checked out MTV’s My Super Sweet 16 that featured Aaron Reid’s party. I must say that the entire setup to execution to the party itself just blew me away. C’mon, let me indulge in some reality shows once in a little while and think of myself as one of those rich, spoilt and bratty kids out there. I am already two-thirds of the equation with my spoilt and bratty portion but there’s still one more element of rich that I am still lacking in. I like to say not yet more so than admit never.

Anyway, back to the TV show, it really brings to our faces what we suspected was happening to the rich kids around but never expected what it actually is like. We think that rich kids drive around in Mercedes Benzs, hang around in clubs with V.I.P. entry passes, buy stuff without looking at their prices. We are probably 1% right, what we never expected is that a rich kid holds his 16th birthday party at Jay-Z’s NYC club, invites P. Diddy to his birthday party, gets Kanye West to perform, receives video greetings from Mariah Carey and the likes. Oh yeah, did I mention that his invitations are in the form of an M.P.3 player where he records his invitation in it?

Now we are talking about Rich with a capital R.

Of course I do like for the day where I can relish in such sinful indulgences and let the whole world hate me. The root of hate is actually love, as often said by people around. But as what one of my good friends, Pearl , told me last night, she has never been that rich before, so it doesn’t really matter if she doesn’t get it. Makes absolute sense to me.

But then it doesn’t hurt to think of it sometimes right?
